Hi, I’m Sherri, and I’m intimately familiar with the pain, overwhelm, and hopelessness that comes with betrayal and major life upheavals.
I started my coaching business because I have a deep-seated desire to give back to women who are going through similar challenges that I have dealt with throughout my life. As a certified life coach, a sex and intimacy coach, and a trauma practitioner – I have the training, certifications, skills, and knowledge to truly understand and help you.
Divorce is stressful.
According to the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale – which measures the stress of different life events – divorce is the most stressful life experience a person can go through after the death of a spouse.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope, you’re not alone.
Thankfully, there are experts who are trained to support and guide you through one of the most taxing experiences.
Today we’re walking through what divorce coaching is and how it can be the lifeline you need!
No one can make divorce stress-free, but a growing cohort of divorce coaches are promising to make separating slightly easier and more manageable.
Experts say that an increasing number of couples and individuals are turning to coaches to help them navigate marital breakdowns, and many divorce lawyers are now referring their clients to a coaching service to help them handle ending the marriage.
Divorce coaching can help couples deal with:
Divorce is immensely stressful and often hard to navigate logistically and emotionally, which is why divorce coaches are trained to help lighten the load.
The most common reason people seek out divorce coaching is because they’re emotionally and mentally overwhelmed.
They’re often dealing with many complex emotions, they are overwhelmed by the logistics, and they don’t want to burden their friends and family with being their sole support system.
A divorce coach can provide the new tools you need to expand your toolbox so that as you navigate the waters of divorce, you have more tools at your immediate disposal.
I helped one of my clients, Susan, practice visualizing exercises to help her cope.
She shared: “I remember one session, my divorce coach talking about riding the waves. It’s rough out at sea, the waves are big, the riptide is strong, but it’s what happens when you reach the shoreline that matters the most.”
Divorce coaches can work with you and your partner as a mediator if that is something you agree upon initially.
They can hold space for each of you and help you to set boundaries in real time conversations.
These sessions are invaluable because they can de-escalate the tension between you both and allow you to start thinking about how each of you will move out of the relationship without senseless lawyer fees or painful arguments.
As a divorce coach, I help my clients navigate one of the most difficult situations you’ll ever face in life.
It’s important to find a coach who supports you, believes you, and connects with you so you feel comfortable asking for help and implementing recommended solutions.
